LOVE/HATE To Reunite For U.K. Tour
September 11, 2007LOVE/HATE members Jizzy Pearl (vocals),Skid Rose (bass) and Joey Gold (drums) will reunite for a U.K. tour in December.
Commented Jizzy: "They said it would never happen (Well, I said it would never happen) but I finally wrangled the guys over the pond for one more round! First show is December 17th in Cardiff, five or six more to follow. Guitar duties will be handled by Darren Householder. Time to break the Bud Cross out of the mothballs and raise the drunken banner high, we'll drink wine and sing the old songs like we used to before we all had jobs and kids and potbellies."
LOVE/HATE's debut album, "Blackout in the Red Room", reached No. 154 on The Billboard 200 in 1990. The video for the single "Why Do You Think They Call It Dope?" was in rotation on MTV, chiefly on "Headbanger's Ball".
In 1992 when they released a second album "Wasted in America", Jizzy Pearl used himself in a legendary publicity stunt to help album sales. This stunt, with the help of a few others, included Jizzy successfully erecting a cross on the Hollywood sign and positioned himself on it. There are two incarnations of LOVE/HATE, before Jizzy Pearl left for L.A. GUNS and after he returned to restart LOVE/HATE. The second incarnation ended quickly as Jizzy Pearl left again to join RATT.
The original lineup reunited for the first time in ten years, on February 24, 2007 at Club Vodka in Hollywood, California to perform their classic record "Blackout in the Red Room" in its entirety. The show sold out, with an audience of 1,500.
